Jim is responsible for the implementation of investment and planning strategies and for managing existing and new client relationships. As a member of the Investment Committee, Jim is responsible for the study of economic, financial and market trends, as well as, the analysis and recommendations of stock, bond, mutual fund, and asset allocation opportunities.
Jim began his career in finance at US Bancorp where he managed, analyzed, and forecasted both revenues and expenses for the $30 million Electronic Payment Systems division. He communicated monthly financial performance to executive management and developed financial models that identified new business opportunities. Before founding Haynes Barker Investment Management, LLC, Jim was Vice President in the Corporate Finance department for a boutique investment bank where he was responsible for identifying, structuring, and valuing public and private financing and merger and acquisition opportunities.
Jim received his BA in history from Washington & Lee University and his MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of Denver. He earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and holds the Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, and Series 24 securities registrations. All securities registrations are held through LPL Financial.
