Investment Philosophy

Philosophy

We believe in modern portfolio theory which teaches the prudent diversification of assets. While we subscribe to a buy and hold strategy, we will recommend the rebalancing of your assets to take advantage of undervalued and overvalued asset classes. (The rebalancing of assets held in accounts which are not tax-advantaged may have tax implications which should also be considered.)

We recommend investments that we are willing to invest our own capital in. We currently own many of the investments that are on our select list. We are partners with our clients for your assets are our lifeblood, and you have our commitment in helping you manage your assets to work toward your unique financial goals.

Investment Selection

We recommend individual common stock and bond positions, ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), preferred stock, actively managed mutual funds, passively managed mutual funds (Index Funds), and alternative investments (REITS, other) where suitable. (Investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate; an investor's shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost.) We have access to most investments that can fill the need for all asset classes.

We provide you fundamental analysis on your investments. We analyze individual stock and bond positions and make buy/sell recommendations based upon client risk suitability, and overall return and asset allocation objectives. We monitor and screen mutual funds for buy/sell opportunities. We recommend mutual funds that typically demonstrate superior risk adjusted performance, low turnover, significant management tenure, little style drift, and low expense ratios.

Investment Committee

The investment committee meets on a weekly basis to discuss economic and market conditions, investment policy and outlook, special client situations, and investment analysis. These meetings help us provide you high quality investment recommendations for both buying and selling opportunities.
